Australian Curriculum/Western Australian Curriculum

The Australian Curriculum sets out the core knowledge, understandings, skills and general capabilities important for all Australian students. The Western Australian Curriculum is being developed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCASA) and is for all students from Kindergarten to Year 10 in Western Australia.

Currently the Pre-primary to Year 10 Western Australian curriculum provides a coherent and comprehensive set of prescribed content and achievement standards which schools will use to plan student learning programmes, assess student progress and report to parents. The Early Years Framework provides details and guidelines for Kindergarten.

The Western Australian curriculum currently encompasses the Australian Curriculum English, Mathematics, science and history. Implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum at Edgewater Primary School is outlined in the school's Business Plan 2015-2017.
